Hope After the Storm

Here’s to an early happy Mother’s Day to all of you, my RSD heroes! :)

To all the moms reading this, I encourage you to spend this Mother’s Day enjoying your kiddos as you change diapers, serve a meal, play a board game, or whatever it is you may do to love those children. Isn’t motherhood a great blessing?!

To celebrate at RSD, we have a beautiful and particularly meaningful May cosmetic, which is made with a rainbow-filled fabric. I made more than usual this month because I know there are many who’ve had a rough year, and I thought this could be a gentle reminder that there is a rainbow at the end of a storm.

For so many moms, rainbows carry a special meaning if they’ve experienced miscarriage, and it always serves as an image of hope. I designed this month's cosmetic with these moms in mind, as well as anybody who may need a reminder to take heart.

“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I also wanted to make a few suggestions for the graduates in your life. Along with the May cosmetic, we have many fun and practical gifts that will help grads begin their next chapter. Both the Terra and Kinley Cubes would be great options, and I recommend going the extra step by filling them with college necessities — toiletries, pens and pencils, or coins for laundry, to name a few.

If you have a few parties coming up, you can make gift giving simple with one of our bundles. The cosmetic, Lizzie sunglass pouch and the Polly can each be ordered as a bundle, giving you multiple ready-to-go gifts on hand. And again, make sure to fill them with something fun. :)

Last but not least, we have debuted a new dark charcoal zipper that pairs beautifully with so many fabrics. There is just something to be said about dark charcoal running alongside a beautiful fabric. I love gray (it’s half my wardrobe!), and we are also starting to pick up a more masculine audience with our cubes. So this new zipper is great for the guys in your life, too.

It’s no secret that the zipper drawer is my favorite drawer, so I encourage you to have fun with your choices as you design your own purse (or one for your mom!) and showcase your creativity.

And again, happy (early) Mother’s Day!
